Tigers Fall Short In Top-5 Matchup With O’Connor
There was no joy in the Millennium locker room on Tuesday night, as the Tigers fell to the Sandra Day O’Connor Eagles on the road by a score of 78 to 65.
Foul trouble plagued the Tigers throughout the night, making it difficult to get into an offensive rhythm in the hostile Phoenix environment, as they were held to just under 50% shooting on the night.
Cameron Holmes and Kingston Tosi led Millennium in scoring with 23 and 14 respectively, with Tosi also grabbing six boards in the contest.
“It’s certainly not the result we wanted, that much is obvious,” said Coach Ty Amundsen after the game. “We learned a lot about our team tonight and now we’ve got a list of things to work on in practice as we prepare for next week’s gauntlet of games.”
The road ahead is riddled with high-level opponents, as the Tigers will face another road test at Pinnacle on Tuesday, before traveling out to Redondo Beach to take on a pair of Golden State powerhouses in JSerra Catholic and Sierra Canyon.
